My 2011 S60 is on its third or fourth battery now, I've lost count, never needed a reset each time the battery has been changed. I followed the instructions above, tried three or four times. No flashing battery light, nothing.
My previous S60 was on the original battery when I got rid of that car at nine years old. The S60 I have now needs one roughly every four years.
