Everyone is different but I really like my 1996 940 LPT automatic.
Drove manuals for about 15 years but last 15 years always an auto. 240 GLT then the 940. I'm nearly 45, so quite young!
Auto really suits the car. It isn't slow, slow and kickdown addictive. The gearbox changes down well and no turbo lag. Very relaxing to drive in traffic and can keep up with modern traffic. Mine I believe has not been modified and is 135bhp Low pressure turbo. B230FK.
Would not have a manual. No problems with having to change a clutch, manual abused more. Auto gearbox in both no issues. Usual part drain/fill.
