Not every one changes their car for those reasons. I changed the 245 because my wife developed a foot problem that meant she was unable to use the clutch so we had to go automatic. I change the 945 TD (after 15 years of moans) because she hated the noise it made on startup.
I suspect a lot of cars get changed due to poor dealer maintaince affecting their drivability, so new cars seem a lot more pleasant to drive.
