AC systems should be de-gassed by a professional using equipment that safely extracts it without venting it off the the outside world, it's bad for the environment
only a complete douche would let out the gas by just disconnecting a pipe
it would be like disposing of your engine oil by pouring it down a drain
A/c places should be able to extract it for you
