I knew that I always struggle with the boot floor on my XC70 and put it down to the fact that I have a heavy duty rubber liner which weighs down the floor but I couldn't remember seeing a gas strut there. Of course it does have one but it doesn't seem to do anything at all with the extra weight of the liner so if the Peugeot one is considerably stronger, that would be a great bonus. Is the difference you feel that compared to the original Volvo unit in working condition or does it feel stronger because the original is not working? Certainly worth £12 for any improvement over the current situation.
