The car that I thought was a 340 GLT, which I rode in as a teenager, could well have come from europe as a right-hand drive. The chap that owned it was my music teacher from school and he went to Belguim for his next car which was a Renault 11 TXE. I know that the Volvo was advertised for sale in the Sunday newspapers. I lived at school in Coventry then, but my old music teacher later left that school to teach Religeon at the Rugby Boys School. I don't know what happend to him, his wife or their children from there, His name was and probably still is Negel Heath.

Importing cars from europe was considered to be the cheaper option during the eighties and many people did this. They would jump on a ferry or plane and just bring a car back with them when they returned.
