It's interesting how the mpg changes between 60mph (51.8) and 80mph (40.8). It's quite signifcant!
I'm guessing, using law of averages, you'd get 46.2 if you travelled at 70mph.
What's also interesting is the speedometer and the mpg gauge readings, vs GPS and raw calcs on mpg. So, using GPS with my webcam set up. 60mph reads as 56-57mph, 80mph reads as 76-77mph.
When I look at average mpg on the readout - I get 46.26mpg..using "mileage against diesel bought" - I get 43.29mpg on the mpg "rolling average" display.
I'm guessing the 3mpg difference is down to inaccuracies on fuel bought against mileage and the fact aircon plays a part on drawing energy from the engine.
I guess, given France's record breaking June temperatures recently, the air con in your car was on most journeys??
I'm still trying to get a 50mpg read out - even if it's just once! Just to see whether it's doable! Lol!
