I think you'd see a greater response to further tuning (Webers and a nice exhaust manifold, etc) with a Gordini head than the normal B14-style head.
It doesn't look like there was ever a factory big-bore option for the iron Cleon. Some of the later 1.6 developments (Dacias, etc) used a stroker crank (and presumably shorter pistons), as did the Oettinger 1.6 kit.
The more famous factory 1.6 Gordini (and Alpine) engines were from the alloy Cleon family, and I don't know how interchangeable the bits are!
