Replacing the swirl flaps and doing some cleaning while the cover is off.
A little gunk in the intake and EGR but nothing excessive.
I would like to clean the intake ports while I'm at it, but I don't want to fill the cylinders with gunk and brake cleaner so I need to know when the valves are open.
I would assume they are open when the cam lobes are facing down pushing on the lifters. -Is it so?
