A quick hijack from me.

I swapped my 235/65 R17 Michelin Latitude Alpine winter wheels and tyre over today for my 235/60 R18 summer wheels and tyres. I now have a dilemma.

The Alpines are dated 2012 and the tread is starting to strip, despite 3.5mm wear left. Probably time to replace the four. The wheels are really in excellent condition though.

The summer tires are a split between a pair of Conti originals on 6mm, but one is starting to show cracking to the sidewalls. The other is fine. The fronts are a pair of budgets put on by the dealer on 7mm tread (he did refund me £350 at the time to leave the budgets on rather than replace for decent tyres).

Do I cut my losses with the summer tyres (I want to replace the cracking Conti and the budgets anyway) and go for some all-season tyres. Or do I go for a summer set and a winter set as I already have both sets of wheels?
