More news. Still waiting to get the car to a garage to do a compression and cylinder leakage test. In the meantime I wrote to Volvo International in Sweden. I've previously written to Volvo France but they can't be bothered to reply. Anyway, I asked Volvo if they considered that less than 150k miles was satisfactory for a D5 engine and turbo in a car that has been regularly serviced by Volvo agents. I also asked a few other general questions. I got a reply today saying that they couldn't answer my questions because they had no one with any technical knowledge in the organisation!! Unbelievable!!
