I just voted a definite yes and is interesting how many are saying no; probably been said somewhere already in this thread but if you are unfortunate enough to have your car checked out by an assessor in the event of an accident and they find anything that is not declared your insurance could be invalidated. A bit like a flight recorder, if the ECU is still intact they can remove it and check the program stored on it - if it is different to standard then they will find out.
