I spoke to Esure via the call centre last year before I had the optimisation applied. The call handler then checked with their supervisor, and then the underwriter and the quote came down a fair bit. The call handler had no idea what Polestar was. It was a bit of a hassle but worth it as via the website the only option is to declare it as a chip modification.

This year the renewal quote was virtually the same as last year, so I've stayed with them for the next year.

Definitely worth shopping around. Good luck.
