Battery connections, TPS
As you have recently changed the battery, are you sure the battery terminal connections are correctly tightened again? Nothing else dislodged while taking out the battery.
Did you check functioning / setting of the throttle position switch? The ECU stops controlling the idle speed as soon as you press the throttle pedal and the TPS opens. If the TPS would open without you touching the pedal the engine speed would drop back to the basic setting of 500 rpm.
I check my TPS by very slightly touching and immediately letting go of the throttle pedal. The engine idle speed then drops slightly to regain 800 rpm again within a second or so.
