Air conditioning is a rarity in a 240 in the UK. Looking at the photos, it was added years later, as it has controls like the 1992-3 cars. Earlier 240s had a dial to regulate temperature. It is the least reliable part of a 240, but still well worth having as an option. All of the parts are still available -- the compressor can be replaced with a Sanden unit (made in Singapore).
