In all honesty other issues were found which could have been the root cause - battery was not charging properly and the main ground cable was found to be badly corroded and green! Then before xmas the alternator was found to be intermittently charging. Potentially the short on the network had not helped on the signals there to it!
The dealer is a family run one not a big chain and to be fair they have also gotten volvo to help contribute to the costs so hasn't been too painful
