You definitely don't want a mere independent messing about with Haldex - it needs a specialist or a dealer, somone that knows that they're about. There are more ways to **** up Haldex than you can imagine.
I would not recommend a dealer for simple jobs like this based on cost. I am assuming you are referring to haldex oil and filter change rather than the pump which is what this thread is actually about.

It doers not require any "specialist" knowledge to change the filter and oil. It is quite a straight-forward DIY job and certainly one that any independent garage could handle very easily.

Replacing the pump and/or getting the DEM rebuilt are also simple jobs. If you have the gen 4 haldex and do not have the larger flange it is really easy and quick.

To be honest I do not really understand why you think this is all so complicated!
