Maybe it could just be pushed back in, so probably just a breather with no fuel pressure.

Looks as if the nut is missing from the stud for the heat shield - see the thread on here about someone who has the shield rattling - so maybe the car has been grounded at some time and the line has been caught (on a road hump?).
