I have a 1999 tailgate with "Volvo V70" on. The letters aren't very shiny. I don't remember if they are solid metal and would shine up, or if they are chrome plated or plastic etc.
I think each letter is held on with double sided adhesive strip and the tailgate or the letters might get damaged if I removed them, so I am reluctant to get into it.
If they are really expensive from Volvo, and you are still really keen, let me know.

Thanks so much for your help! The badges are prohibitively expensive from the dealer. At their price, I'd stick without them! However, I found someone breaking a v70 t5 near me, and I managed to get them to give me the badges! Success!
