I’d love to run a classic for work mileage but it’s the safety angle that firmly kills that for me. I do maybe up to 500-600 miles a week and with the current very poor standards of driving on motorways etc. I wouldn’t do that regularly without abs, dstc, airbags etc. and a strong passenger cell. Hence the oldest car I use is my 2003 c70 (occasionally) 90% of the time it’s in in my xc90 which I bought for that job.

With say an Amazon or even an older 240 or perhaps cortina or similar, they’d come off far worse in even a modest crash with a newer car - any newer car.
