went to change oil and found drain plug all but rounded off and solidly screwed in place, thanks 'specialist' volvo garage, did you put it on with an impact gun or something..

grr.. ordered a new sump plug, will fight with that later.

found that what I thought was about 10mm loss of oil on stick was actually me being parked on a slight hill obviously because checking again today on the drive it's not budged at all in 14 months (6k miles) and still fairly treacly in colour. so no major rush

replaced rear right lower light cluster which was more of a pain in the arse than I expected but still, half hour job. old one had a small but noticeable ugly mark on it and I saw one for £40 on ebay, good as new

played around with jack / block of wood / engine and found that my top mount is dead, which was not as obvious before now, others seem to be ok far as I can tell. ordered polybush replacement and the strut brace bush kit. hoping that's the cause of the slight clonking I get on uneven roads / side to side movement (already replaced gearbox mount) going over straight bumps like speed bumps was fine, no noise at all. ARB bushings seem ok if slightly aged
