Nope, its a bit awkward as the small torx screws face downwards, but you can remove the controller ECU from the pump without removing the pump or disturbing the brake lines.
Once removed, it is possible to drive the car still - but obviously it'll be minus the ABS system. Brakes will work fine otherwise. But I'm not sure how you'd stand insurance wise
