I use Autoaid Breakdown insurance, £41 a year, covers my car, my wife's car plus the caravan for breakdowns "if the caravan is connected to the tow car by a standard 50mm ball". The policy works slightly different to the normal ie you and your wife are insured for whatever you drive and in the event of a breakdown " more than one mile from your home"!!! Then you will be towed/transported to an approved garage where you pay the bill and then claim the money back. Never used it yet in the past two years of membership but please read the reviews, they are very good, I found them on the WHICH magazine website, I also saw v.good reviews on MSE.
