Thanks BillG. I actually understood that right up to the eeprom bit.

Got the code from Taggarts Volvo in Glasgow over the phone this afternoon. Took all of 2 minutes to get the code and 2 hours for my display to reset to allow me to enter it.

If the display is saying OFF, you must leave the set switched on, i.e key in the ignition for 30 minutes to 2 hours before CODE reappears on it. Then enter code and sound returneth. All praise The Mighty Taggarts.
