Well I retimed the ignition by ear, and I seem to have got the idle revs up to just over 1,000. I'll dig out my timing light in a week or so, and try to check the timing scientifically. I understand that the final settings are sorted out by the engine management, and that's why i'm not giving it priority. I'll check the plugs and fiut new leads when it has warmed up a bit today. The Hoe is booking in for an MOT on Tuesday, and I'm hoping that I will have fixed all the issues by then. It's got a new back box, but the hangers are a bit short, and I'm hoping it won't be failed because of that. The exhaust has been a real saga, and I might start a thread about that. The wordt problem seems to be finding parts.
