The arms protude enough for caravans well over 8 foot wide so i will be shortening the arms by 75mm each side.
Update on using EMUK mirrors..
Gave these a 220 mile road test down to cornwall this week....great piece of (expensive) kit. no vibration, good clear vision with the mirrors having a very slight convex surface. I cut the tubes down to 110mm from the casting and placed some thin foam on the clamping face.
