Hi MrNickW, and x119,

I have a 2021 XC40. It has intellisafe (lane assist), but not ACC or Pilot Assist. As you know, Volvo removed the software upgrade option for 2021+ model years.

I unfortunately won't be able to come to you, as I live in Canada. My dealerships here all refuse to perform the upgrade. Can you point me with tips that can help me either do this myself, or with the help of a 3rd party Volvo authorized service center?

I understand I'll need to subscribe to Vida to get my CEM PIN. What are the next steps?

Many thanks!

Thanks for replying in the thread. I actually have a Vida lead on order at the moment from the states following some useful advice on SweedSpeed. It’s going to take a couple of weeks for the lead to get to me. Whereabouts are you based? Do you think you would be able to help me out if I came to you? What would you charge?

I’m running out of options, so thinking about doing it myself at the moment, learning along the way. This could of course be handy knowledge when it comes to uninstalling / reinstalling around services or other software upgrades. There’s someone on SwedeSpeed that’s been offering me some really useful advice for the DIY option.

I’m on track to have my own USA Vida account soon where I can extract the necessary information and then use the same lead to perform the upgrade using another service. Or perhaps… You could help me remotely? It’s my understanding the software and hardware is already in the car, it just needs unlocking. I’m determined to find a way to do this!
