A combination of the reduction in car manufacturing and an increase in the number of PCs being purchased during the pandemic, followed by the storm in Texas as well as the fire at one manufacturer, and drought in Taiwan resulting in plants being closed.

Many reports seem to think that this issue is going to run through to late 2022, so I think it would be reasonable to expect any new orders to take 6 months or longer for delivery

If it comes any sooner, bonus.

This may even push up the price of nearly-new cars, if the demand stays high.
