Default Rubbing tyres on full lock

While doing my alarm module replacement I discovered a few steering issues

My V70R AWD has removable/replaceable metal rubbing plates where the tyre 'may' contact the inner arch lining

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 235/40R18 extra load tyres with rim protection so the tyre projects out quite a bit more than the wheel itself

Both of the steel protection plates are damaged where the tires have been contacting them {see pictures)

Now I already have a turning circle somewhat in excess of that of the USS Enterprise nuclear aircraft carrier

SO can I get bigger (thicker) steering bump stops? {mine are black and don't appear to be excessively worn} So I can't see new parts solving this issue.

OR do I just need to space out the existing stops with two or three washers underneath the bolts that fix the existing stops to the wishbone.

thanks
