Of all the things that the restoration involved there was only one scary moment. Having fitted the new hood, we then had to cut the hole in the mohair for the rear window. That first stab with a stanley knife was quite nerve wracking - first we cut a cross in the centre of the opening and then pinned it at 12,6,3 and 9 o'clock and then worked around to the corners. It took us a couple of minor adjustments to ensure there were no wrinkles. It will be intersting to see how it goes. |

Firstly, many thanks for clearly stating a declaration of interest, and with a restoration that looks that good after 14 years, you and your son should be quite proud of it.
Whilst it isn’t a type of motor that floats my boat, anyone looking for an Escort Cabrio, probably won’t go far wrong with it.
Those sort of ‘one chance only ‘ jobs, i tend to do as much research as I can, measure thrice and repeat, say three Hail Marys, and close the eyes
