I have ForSale my Red Volvo Amazon (G-Reg) 1969 131
In fairly original condition hasn’t been over restored over the years comes fitted with a B20 engine single stromberg carb with non overdrive m40 , it’s the late spec dual brakes ! Very desirable model everyone likes for piece of mind in respect to the brakes department it’s fitted with the uprated ratio rear axle .
After driving it on a long journey I can put my hand on my heart and say it drives absolutely Amazingly with such smooth driving with no overdrive needed at all for long drives on the motorway runs , I had 90mph from the car at key moments to really test the car which is so quiet as a mouse and it loved it so can very easily keep up with modern traffic .
The car has recently been m.o.t.ed so comes with 12 Months MOT 😎👍 for piece of mind although these cars are mot exempt and Road Tax exempt which makes them very desirable cheap cars to run also the parts are very easy to buy so maintaining the cars is hassle free plus such joys to work on , so a competent person can maintain them on a driveway or single garage very easily 👍
The car is Painted in a vibrant Red when polished although the cars not been touched so the paintwork has aged related wear and tear please view the images I have included to judge for yourself to Have a good idea what the car looks like for those travelling distance it will show what condition the cars in to help decide on travelling any distance but she’s in top notch condition mechanically with everything working as you would expect so should be a easy decision to make rest assured it is worth the drive to see the car.
Spec :
-B20 Engine with four speed gearbox m40 .
-period radio with Ariel fitted to the drivers wing .
-late ratio rear axle.
-dual brake system !
-headrest front seats fitted from factory .
-modern style three point seatbelts fitted in the front and the rear of the car ✅
-rear fog light.
-new battery fitted .
-Simonz sports exhaust fitted .
-Immobiliser fitted for extra protection and cheaper insurance!
-had a heated rear screen so the electrics and switch is fitted but would need a new heated rear screen to plug in as old lines on the screen have worn but easy to replace with new as they can be purchased from brookhouse parts 😎👍 ( happy to help if required )
-The car had previously been fitted by last owner with uprated rear springs & shocks for towing including electrics for the toe bar although the toe bar has been removed now ! Would not take much work to refit if required should just bolt up and wire in with electrics that have been isolated below rear .
-New top wishbone poly bushes fitted
-New bottom passengers side ball joint fitted for the mot which was the only thing that got picked up on when taking it to the mot station ✅ done now .
I haven’t gone overboard with the car as I wanted it to be up Forsale at a affordable price rather than fully restoring it to then be asking £13k plus ! So great VALUE for money or buy the car and have some upgrades done to suit your needs .

I will give the car a oil filter and oil change before the car goes with the new owner including using a genuine volvo oil filter ✅
Also we have a spray booth within my workshop so if you feel the sills and rear boot area would like to be done I’m sure that can be arranged to bring the car to the next level
So many good points to list the car drives so nicely with lots of throttle power from the redblock B20 volvo engine we all know and has been tested over years run for miles & miles if maintained correctly!
Corners very smooth with no sway one of the best I have driven from this model and year so impressed it doesn’t need an overdrive ! .

Bad points:
The sills both side and drivers rear fluted valance could do with preparation rubbing down and epoxy primer applied to then paint in red to match/ blend in
Also the bootlid has some bubbling coming through now I have a replacement bootlid in my workshop which has been blasted and coated in epoxy primer happy to have a deal that suits us both and help assist in these areas or you can just buy the car and use as is just wanted to highlight these areas and offer options …
Now I have owned the car since November 2021 last year and wanted to bring the car back to full health mechanically which she has been since her m.o.t went really well and a long drive to shake the car down also catch any few tasks I knew was needed to be done ready to pass the car on .
The car is ready for viewing and test drive on arranging a time that suits us both
