Just thought I would update this thread with the positive outcome. Our local ETS had a £40 offer for a re-gas so I took them up on it. VIDA is now showing a system pressure of 444 kPa compared with 30 kPa before it was filled. That is slightly over spec but then I guess the on-board pressure sensor may not be completely accurate? The car had been off the road for 1-2 years so I was relieved to see the compressor clutch cycling in a nicely noise free manner. Ah....nice cool air again :-)
and...yes...I have clearly hexed the summer as the heat of last week is no more!
