It would be interesting for you to disconnect the battery for a day to see if the voltage has dropped. If so, then for some reason, the battery isn't holding it's charge.

Well, finally got around to doing a disconnected test, 12.70V (after a good run) droppped to 12.68V over 24 hours, so I think the battery must be ok. All a bit of a mystery. Think I'd better invest in a powerpak (or whatever they're called) before the winter..
