Yes, it's two unconnected problems.

The early VEA oil control ring drain hole problem is well documented in another forum thread... https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showp...3&postcount=25 However I've not seen a definitive explanation for the cam cover gasket leakage (and the possibly related problem of leakage from the cam end seals)... is it excessive crankcase pressurisation caused by a defective PCV, the cover warping or is it something else?
