I'd be interested to see how you get on when you take the egr off etc,.. would you be able to put some photos up? Be aware that if you decide to replace it that these volvos are notoriously picky for replacement EGR's,... It's pretty much guaranteed that you will HAVE to buy a genuine OEM part, which of course... comes with a cost.
