I have a 2011 V70 D5 ex plod and this very same issue has been happening for the last few weeks.
Solution offered by my friendly local czech mechanic was immediately the fuel pump. Replaced last week and problem solved!
Funny enough when I took the car to the Volvo main dealers in Ostrava they told me no codes were displayed for this issue?
