I used to work for Vauxhall and our service manager was given a 1.4 turbo Insignia. It looked bloody brilliant in all fairness but his first journey was from Boston to Leeds, when he brought it back he was amazed. He said it had the equivalent pulling power of a 1.8, but where a 1.8 would have averaged 36-40mpg this 1.4 barely made 24mpg.
Suffice to say he was gutted it took a couple of months to sell as he had to fuel it out of his own pocket. Funnily enough they never made the new owner aware of this on the test drive😁
