have a look at the big bushes on the rear of the front suspension wishbones ..
if you drive at under 10 mph and quickly dab the brakes on and off hard you might well hear a clonk !

Thanks, will a take a look at mine as well, as expect that may be the issue since mine feels very unstable and pretty sloppy when steering as well as the steering wheel vibrations.
It passed it's MOT ~2 weeks back which I'm sure they'd be a failure on. Sadly I don't have much faith in most garages these days, so wouldn't be surprised if they missed it/didn't look.
