So I was going to start with the PCV but after removing it and realising just how filthy the engine was I couldn't leave it so I started by cleaning the engine up a bit.

I then dealt with the PCV

I soaked the inside with degreaser and a whole load of black oily filth came out, I did this until it was running out clear then fitted the new O-ring.

I then removed the throttle body to find the inlet manifold was very filthy internally and the throttle body itself.

I then took to the inlet manifold off, cleaned it out and cleaned up the scruffy looking and oily cylinder head and the parts of the block I couldn't reach with the manifold on. I cleaned the mating faces up ready for the new gaskets but I forgot to photograph that.

I then cleaned out the idle control valve but didn't take any photos as there isn't much to see.

I then took the thermostat housing off, the thermostat is stuck inside the housing (as per usual) but the thermostat is dated December 1991 so I belive it is the original 30 year old one.
