I'm guessing the 240 is a RHD motor car, so it has no value aside from scrap in France. Furthermore I'm assuming the owner is giving the 240 away free of charge in the hope someone will save it, which is magnanimous of him.

If the car was in England it might be worth £300 for scrap, or perhaps £500 if someone was willing to take on a huge risk (unused for over a decade, the normal rusty rear end, in need of lots and with no title) - but it isn't, it is in France and realistically would cost a grand to recover. Even if the motor car was in a remote part of the UK I don't think it would be recovering.

So, sadly I have to agree, it is a nice idea of the owner to give it away on the off chance that someone might take it on, but I think that pretty unlikely amongst our community.
