Agreed, 'W.S.', but we need more information before we can offer any more specific advice or recommendations. For example, many older devices will not work on newer cars with thick rimmed wheels and airbags. I've recently given two away which I used on my 1 and 2 series cars, but were incompatible with either my present V70 or our Saabs.
