I don't use the car much and wanted to get the tank very low on petrol.
I got it down to the petrol warning light coming on, and then a bit further.
On Sunday I put in about 4 gallons of petrol that was stored in cans, mainly for the lawn mowers (two ancient Flymo 2 strokes).
I ran the car very briefly, did not notice much difference.
But today, did a about 7 miles through traffic, stop start, the car performed perfectly.
Asda have come back to me claiming that there was nothing wrong with the petrol I bought.
At this moment, I am about 98% sure that it was contaminated petrol. Coincidentally, the bad tickover happened just after I filled up at Asda.
The next use of the car will be on Saturday, I'll report back.
Had a look for the Analogue Gunsons CO meter, not found it as yet!
Many thanks to all.
