The diesel doesn't run hot I can go for a 300 mile drive and the engine is Luke warm to cold you wouldn't get much pressure unless it's hot which they don't get where does youre temp needle sit because it should be halfway or just below half on the cold side. Once the car is fully warmed up. My rover I had before I could litterally cook a sausage roll from frozen in half hour under the bonnet it got that hot lol my volvo never gets hot.thats why it's rare for head gaskets not to go.
