Just bringing up an old thread here...

I'm wondering if classicswede or someone can help:

I recently ended up with two sets of front disc pads - a Volvo-brand one, and also a set of Mintex MGB576. I am curious about the Mintex ones because the box says 'This material must not be used on public highway'. They are denoted as M1144 pad material, and for Fast Road/Rally use.

Why is it you can't use them in normal road use? Is it that they're all about not failing at high temperatures, and aren't so great at grabbing at low speeds?

By the way the Volvo pads are on the car, I'm just wondering what to do with these Mintex ones.
