ATE brakes are rare on 240's I have seen most ATE brakes on 260's but the odd 240 does have them. 140's and 164's tend to be 50/50 and then the 7 and 900 series are almost all ATE
The differnce in size pads you describe is around the differnce between ATE and Girling. The pin spacing is also slightly off between the two
