My first Volvo back in the day was a 1969 145S. Loved it so much I have been a continuous Volvo owner since - 50 years.
Regarding the age related spec. It does indeed look like a '69 spec - one piece chrome grille, split side window and carpet transmission tunnel without the clock console. However, '69 spec didn't have headrests on the front seats, so would suggest very late '69 early '70 which would fit with the registration date.

I agree, 'ITSv40'. Another clue is the door handles - later cars had the 'letterbox' pull flap sort and not the push button type fitted to this car.
