This is the problem with no temp gauge or warning light then I don't know the temp of the coolant . The heater was blowing hot though. A 40 mile trip in this weather midday I would not have expected the bottom rad hose to be cold to touch and the top one hot.

Are other petrol V40s running around in this weather long journeys with the bottom rad hose cold or is it just mine?
I'm a bit wary of going on a long run for fear of overheating.
Do you know if there's a temp gauge on a bi-fuel V40? I would be reassured if I could find one.

I've posted this on the V40 forum too as not many looking in here these days.
