Among my pet hates after 2000 are:
DMF, Internal Slave Cylinder, Fly By Wire, VVT and now ATF versus Pentosin.

The older Volvo mileages for parts do not stand anymore my S40 1.8 is on it`s second VVT in 72,000mls and i won`t repair it out of spite it still does 38mpg but i hate the car, now at 84,000 and just had both it`s droplinks done and a bottom wishbone joint for the MOT.
I will not ever buy a post Ford Volvo again.
Sorry about that but i feel do better now!

Nothing really to do with ford, all producers have moved over to synthetic steering fluids as they are superior to the mineral based fluids
