I think these days most owners wouldn’t know unless they are enthusiasts.
There are 3 levels of audio in the s60. Base, hifi, premium.
The base audio will have a HU6xx with no amp or centre speaker.
The mid system will have a HU8xx which does have an amp and centre speaker.
The premium system has a HU8xx with more powerful amp and extra speakers in the doors and parcel shelf. (the extra speaker mouldings in the front doors are the best way to tell when browsing adverts)
In my experience even the mid system is decent and a step above average modern systems. Stepping up to the premium in my other v70 brought a slight bit more clarity at higher volumes that I would never listen at anyway.
