I managed on my 2010 exec to disable the always on headlights using VIDA. Mine are a xenon type, I wanted to try and put off the eventual renewal with these as they are a bit more expensive to replace. The xenons work great in the dark but I couldn't see the point in "wasting" them during the daylight. I installed some flexible silicon covered led strips into the little grills in the front bumper and I found a live supply that was on and stayed on when the ign key was in. The strips I found also had the amber indicator function. I had to add a relay and resistor in circuit to dim the leds when the side lights and or head lights are on.
It was a nice little project and all works well. I have an added (unintentional) feature that when the ign key is off and removed, the leds remain on for a minute or two which is useful on a dark night.
